Cirkidz Troupe Performs at
Come Out Festival Launch

On October 24 Cirkidz wowed a 500 person audience
attending the Come Out 2009 Festival Launch, with a
spectacular aerial tissue act by Jascha Boyce, and a
group act that filled the theatre with tumbling, juggling,
hula hoop, contortion, glow manipulation and even
German Wheel.

The performance played with the idea of being Freaky;
the theme for a daring collaboration which has been
especially commissioned for the festival showcasing the
fun, youthful power of Cirkidz and the inspired lunacy of
adult professionals, Circus Monoxide.

“A breathtaking spectacle with moving and often funny
narratives, Freaky reflects on and celebrates the creative
potential of the ‘kooky kid’ or ‘the misfit’ and on what
happens when they grow to be parents in their own right.
Ultimately, it recognises our individual need to feel that
we belong”.

FREAKY will be showing at the Thebarton Theatre from
May 20-23, 2009. Check page 14 of your Come Out
Program for more information.

The Circus Came to Town!

There was juggling, hula hooping, skipping, balancing
and much fun and laughter when Circus Maximus hit
town on Sunday 21 September.

To celebrate National Youth Circus Week, over twenty five
young Cirkidz performers amazed a full house at the Parks
Complex with circus flicks and tricks. Ring mastered by
Cirkidz Artistic Director Dan and Trainer Joel, supported by a
small cast of volunteers, the event was a huge success.
