A Rare Opportunity!

Hi everyone! We are so excited to announce that Rachel Bowman will be offering aerial silk workshops here at the SA Circus Centre, the Home of Cirkidz. This is a very special opportunity to refine your skills and train with one of the industry's best aerial artists. You are invited to an intimate workshop where Rachel will share her knowledge and expertise within a small group setting. This workshop will assume intermediate to advanced practice and you will need a minimum of 6 months of training under your belt. This is not to be missed! To register please call us on 8346 5735 or click here to enrol online!

About Rachel: Rachel began her career as a ballet dancer in Australia and the UK working with Opera Australia Ballet Company, British Youth Opera and the Australian Ballet. She began training as an aerialist at the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne before traveling the world working as a dancer and aerialist performing in Europe, China, Japan and the USA. Rachel has performed her own choreography as a solo aerialist for Cirque Du Soleil and Disney, in films such as Powder Blue (with Jessica Biel, Patrick Swayze, and Forrest Whitaker), in TV shows such as Hell’s Kitchen, Brothers and Sisters, in commercial campaigns for American Horror Story and Toyota and for special events for Michael Jackson, Seth MacFarlane, Eddie Van Halen and Elizabeth Taylor among many others. In 2013 Rachel founded the company Womack and Bowman with her aerial partner Brett Womack and the two have gone on to perform their numerous duo aerial acts as well as open Womack and Bowman – The Loft, a successful aerial arts studio in Los Angeles, CA.

About the Workshop: Rachel is influenced and inspired by the intersection of aerial arts and dance. Her instruction focuses on the exploration and incorporation of seamless transitions between tricks and phrases that create elegant movement and flow. Students can expect to learn a variety of interesting drops and phrases that flow together and culminate in a routine set to music that consists of the combination of skills learnt. This routine will be ‘performed’ at the end of class, creating a tangible take-away that students can film and keep for future reference and inspiration.
